The 2nd Congress of The East Asia Association of Environmental and Resource Economics
Dear friends and colleagues,
We are very pleased to invite you to Bandung, Indonesia, for the 2nd Congress of the East Asian Association of Environmental and Resource Economics. The conference will be held on the campus of Padjadjaran University, on February 2-4, 2012. EAAERE 2012 will be hosted by the Faculty of Economics, Padjadjaran University. Founded in 1957, Padjadjaran University is among the top universities in Indonesia. The university, including its Faculty of Economics is now striving toward more recognition as the world class research and education institution. Since its establishment, the university has set the agenda of playing a major role in promoting research on environmental issues to support Indonesian development. This congress fits perfectly with this long-established orientation of the university.
The problem of climate change and the paradigm shift toward the green economy has made our field, environmental and resource economics, never been more central in the global scientific and public policy discourse. The congress programme will cover those important issues along with wider areas of environmental and resource economics. We expect around 200 participants from East Asia and beyond, in their capacities as researchers, professionals, policy makers, as well as international organizations representatives engaged in various activities in the congress.
Surrounded by fresh mountainous region, Bandung has been the top destination in the region since the colonial era. Known to the world as the host of the 1955 Asian African Conference, and full of cultural heritages including its art-deco architecture, Bandung has been long well known also as the Paris van Java. Your visit will be a memorable one.
We look forward to seeing you in Bandung in 2012!
